20 thousand people are being treated in 26 states
Black Fungus infection has reached 26 states of the country and currently around 20 thousand patients are being treated for this disease across the country. According to the ICMR, the risk of mucormycosis is highest among diabetic patients.
Reduction of Black Fungus Injection in the country
There is a huge shortage of vaccines used in the treatment of Black Fungus in the country and injections are not available even equal to 10% of the total demand. Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister DV Sadananda Gowda informed on Monday that the central government has allocated an additional 30100 vials of Amphotericin-B to states and union territories. Sadanand Gowda tweeted, “All states / union territories and central institutions were allotted an additional 30,100 vials of Amphotericin-B today.” Along with this, he told that Maharashtra has provided the maximum number of 5900 vials and 5630 to Gujarat. Apart from this, additional vials have been given to Andhra Pradesh 1600, Madhya Pradesh 1920, Telangana 1200, Uttar Pradesh 1710, Rajasthan 3670, Karnataka 1930 and Haryana 1200.
