New Delhi: The politics of Dominica has been hot about the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam accused Mehul Choksi (Mehul Choksi). Leader of the opposition party Lennox Linton claims that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit’s government was fully aware of Choksi’s arrival in Dominica. Whereas now the government is pretending as if it did not know anything. Linton said that Mehul Choksi’s presence in Dominica raises many serious questions and the government should answer them.
Entry found without Passport
In exclusive talks with Zee News’s affiliate website WION, Dominica’s opposition leader Lennox Linton strongly criticized the local government over the Mehul Choksi dispute. He said that Choksi had come to Dominica without a passport, which in itself is shocking. The government should be asked how did it get the passport entry without it?
How are the officers oblivious?
Lennox Linton said, ‘Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerritt and his government are moving forward on this issue and not saying anything because they do not want the truth to be revealed to everyone. The truth is that the fugitive businessman reached Dominica without the mandatory documents’. Linton further said that Choksi reached Dominica by sea route, but the operator of the ship from which he arrived made a false statement. He said that he came to Dominica on 25 May, while he had come only on 23. Apart from this, he did not even mention Choksi. After all, how did the officials concerned not get a sense of it?
Accused of forcibly bringing Dominica
Mehul Choksi, an accused in the PNB scam, mysteriously disappeared from Antigua and reached Dominica last week. After this, there was also talk of sending him to India, but Dominica refused it. The local court has refused to send Choksi to any other country till the matter is heard. At the same time, the fugitive businessman’s lawyers allege that he was forcibly brought to Dominica and during this time he was also tortured.
