Foreign Minister Meets Chinese Counterpart, Discusses 'Issues Along LAC'

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi met right now and mentioned “excellent points” alongside the Line of Actual Control. The two within the assembly in Tajikistan that lasted an hour additionally agreed on calling a gathering between senior navy commanders from either side.

The discussions between Mr Jaishankar and Wang came about on the Foreign Ministers’ assembly of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, an eight-nation regional grouping that primarily focuses on safety and protection points.

“Concluded a one-hour bilateral assembly with State Councillor and FM Wang Yi of China on the sidelines of Dushanbe SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting. Discussions targeted on the excellent points alongside the LAC within the Western Sector,” Mr Jaishankar tweeted, referring to the Line of Actual Control.

“Highlighted that unilateral change of established order is just not acceptable. Full restoration and upkeep of peace and tranquillity in border areas is important for growth of our ties. Agreed on convening an early assembly of the Senior Military Commanders,” the Foreign Minister tweeted, together with a photograph of him shaking palms along with his Chinese counterpart. Both are in masks because of the pandemic.
