A day after the Centre’s remark that no COVID-19 deaths have been reported by the states and UTs on account of lack of oxygen, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Wednesday slammed the federal government and stated the assertion is “fully false”.

Speaking to media about COVID instances, Mr Jain stated, “They (Centre) will quickly say there was no COVID-19. If there have been no deaths on account of lack of oxygen, then why had been hospitals going to High Court for shortages? This is totally false.”

“We had fashioned an audit committee for oxygen to supply compensation to victims, which was stopped by the Center by way of Lieutenant Governor. The Center is rubbing salt on wounds. We will attraction to the Lieutenant Governor to permit us to run the committee,” he added.
