More than 3.20 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are at present out there with states, union territories and personal hospitals for inoculation, the Union Health Ministry stated on Thursday.

States and union territories have to date acquired a complete of 43,79,78,900 vaccine doses by means of all channels and an extra 7,00,000 doses are on their means, it stated.

The whole consumption, together with wastage, to date is 40,59,77,410 doses, the ministry stated, citing knowledge out there on Thursday.

More than 3.20 crore — 3,20,01,490 — stability and unutilised doses are nonetheless out there with states, UTs and personal hospitals to be administered, the ministry stated.

The Union authorities is dedicated to accelerating the tempo of vaccination and increasing its scope, it stated.

The new section of universalisation of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from June 21, 2021.

The vaccination drive has been ramped up by means of availability of extra vaccines, advance projections of vaccine availability to states and UTs for enabling higher planning by them, and streamlining the provision chain.

As a part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting states and UTs by offering them COVID-19 vaccines freed from price, the ministry stated.

Under the brand new section of vaccination, the Center procures and provides to states and UTs 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by producers.
