Former chief government officer of Virgin Galactic Holdings, George Whitesides, will fly to house on the aerospace firm’s subsequent check spaceflight, CNBC reported on Friday.
Richard Branson, the billionaire founding father of Virgin Galactic, flew to house earlier this month, beating Amazon.com’s Jeff Bezos to the ultimate frontier. Branson introduced the information about Whitesides throughout a celebration in New Mexico on July 11, following his personal spaceflight, the report mentioned.
Lori Garver, a former deputy administrator of NASA was current on the celebration and informed CNBC that Branson mentioned, “George will likely be main our subsequent flight.”
Branson, whose spaceflight marked a symbolic milestone for the enterprise he began 17 years in the past, touted the mission as a precursor to a brand new period of house tourism.
Bezos, together with three others together with the world’s oldest house traveler and astronaut, Wally Funk, flew into house simply days later, aboard his personal house firm Blue Origin’s rocket.
Virgin Galactic didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
