At least 130 youngsters had been admitted to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital with excessive fever and dysentery, a well being division official mentioned on Monday.
Two of them had been later shifted to North Bengal Medical College as their situation worsened, he mentioned.
The growth comes amid warning by consultants that the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic may pose a higher danger to youngsters.
