Some of California‘s cutest surfers hit the waves to boost cash for their orphaned buddies in want.

The sixteenth annual Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon at was held at Del Mar Dog Beach Sunday afternoon to boost cash for pets at Helen Woodward Animal Center.

The canine, alongside their owners, competed in entrance of a panel of judges consisting of surf execs and aficionados.

Sporting tuxedos, sun shades, mohawks and different festive costumes, the opponents – championing for the title of Best in Surf – have been judged on the size of their creativity, experience, wave approach, enthusiasm and confidence on the board.
