Food security watchdog Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the licenses of 15 meals enterprise operators in Kerala as they didn’t adjust to the requisite necessary security audits regardless of repeated reminders.
To strengthen the meals security surveillance system, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has directed finishing up of audits of Food Business Operators (FBOs) by personal auditing companies.
In an announcement at present, the regulator mentioned that even after repeated intimation and issuance of enchancment notices twice, the 15 Food Business Operators belonging to the Kerala area haven’t performed any third-party meals security audits.
“Non-compliance of necessary audits by above FBOs in excessive threat meals enterprise operations has been seen severely and their FSSAI license has been suspended with impact from September 13 fore-noon by Central Designated Officer, Kerala & Lakshadweep in accordance with part 32 (2 ) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 guidelines and laws made thereunder,” the assertion mentioned.
The Food Business Operators are unfold throughout Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, (*15*), Kottayam, Kannur, Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad.
These embrace Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel & Spa, Thiruvananthapuram; Lite Bite Foods Pvt Ltd, Kannur; and Kovalam Resort Pvt Ltd, The Leela Kovalam, Thiruvananthapuram.
The Food Safety and Standards (Food Safety Auditing) Regulations, 2018, mandate annual third-party meals security audits of meals companies falling beneath six excessive threat classes by an company acknowledged by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
