Self-driving startup Argo AI, automaker Ford Motor and Walmart will collectively launch an autonomous car supply service in Miami, Austin, and Washington, DC, the businesses mentioned on Wednesday.
Initial integration testing is anticipated to start later this yr, the businesses added.
The transfer comes as client expectations shift to next-day or same-day supply, notably in city areas with a better focus of deliveries.
The multi-city service will enable Walmart prospects to place on-line orders of groceries and different well-liked objects for autonomous supply to their houses.
Argo’s The cloud-based system will combine with Walmart’s on-line ordering platform to route orders and schedule bundle deliveries. Ford’s Self-driving check autos with Argo’s self-driving system will then ship the orders to prospects.
